Here’s to Women Celebrating Women!
Saturday April 21,2018 Brittany Blakney a member of Prairie View Senior Girls(PVSG) hosted a Women Empowerment Brunch at PVAMU. “The purpose of the brunch was to be a platform for young ladies to network and come together with women leaders. Some students have never spend time with successful women, especially never interacting with them in a small group setting. They don’t have the opportunity to sit at the feet and glean from successful women leaders. We want to allow ladies to hear how successful women have overcome and dealt with difficult situations and we want to also ensure that we have positive and successful people feeding into the life of our ladies. The goal is to provide good information, guidance, wisdom, positive influences and encouragement so that they never give up pursing their dreams and to give support to our younger Prairie View A&M University ladies who may not get it from other sources. We want to also make sure and help students to see rewards and benefits of working hard. Lastly, we want to bring women together of different backgrounds into one room to share with this younger generation of students why hard work is important and why sacrifice at this age is what fuels success for your future.”
PVSG Membership Intake Committee Chair,
You look so cute girl! Where you got that from?
I’m wearing all Fashion Nova’s clothes. Yes I got my entire outfit from Fashion Nova! I wanted to go for a “I’m ready for business In style” look for the brunch. My outfit was very affordable and stylish. This look shows you’re ready for success! I could move around the room and network comfortably, and not keep running to the bathroom adjusting anything. One important thing that was talked about at the brunch was dressing for certain occasions. It’s a time and a place for everything you put on. Your appearance and first impression is everything.
We got some amazing information and advice from the speakers:
Cassandra Corley, Jennifer Hohman, Latoya Buford, DeRonica Horn, Tanya Smith, Carolyn Guillory, Monique LaCour, Brittany Opeloye, Ty Johnson, Jacque Colbert, Tranika Jefferson, Dr. Maxine Jones Madison, and Desire Guillory.
